The Peaceable Revoltuion: Not Bought, but Grown

 
 
Similarly, for all those efforts to recast the country's history and heroes in a more Conservative blue, the government's own polls keep showing that Canadians still admire Pierre Trudeau, David Suzuki and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  It must be frustrating to those who persist in seeing Canadians as passive consumers of politics and democracy.  These customers are not being swayed by ads, their culture is not easily rebranded and they have higher expectations of government than mere bargains and slogans.
 
So what do Canadians want, fundamentally?
 
They want skin in the game.  It may just be that they're recognizing that, when they work in tandem, they have it.
 
It's a beautiful thing, an awakening society.  So long as it doesn't get angry.
