Demand Not of Your Country But What You're Willing to Invest Yourself

But we have an equal, if not greater responsibility.  We have to demand more depth.  We may be pressed for time and unable to delve deeply into the nuances of public policy debate and to assess the pros and cons of alternatives.  But the end result of our busy lives and short attention spans should not be a vulnerability to being seduced by intuitively appealing sound bites.

The implication of the constraints of our time and attention is that we should be skeptical about those who promote easy, populist solutions.  We should be intrigued by those who promote more subtle and reflective ideas, and lean towards those who resist catering to our base instincts for quick fixes.

Couldn't have said it any better myself.

So - whose ready for an adventure?  We can't get there without you.
