I wonder if Scott Reid likes Chronicle

Many would have you believe that in the wilds of Canadian politics Stephen Harper is an apex predator - the most feared and dangerous carnivore to be found.

There's a problem with viewing people as apex predators - after all, we don't live in the wild.

For reasons that remain thoroughly shadowed, he has almost blithely wandered into one trap after another, half of his own making, all desperately threatening to his reputation and even his political standing.

He looks but through a lens, darkly.

It's a good thing we have high-priced pundits to explain these things to us, eh?
