Advocacy: It's the Little Stones that Take Down Goliath

So Goliaths will fall, and, as they do, the smaller, perhaps more insidious, evils that thrive in their shadows will be brought to light and can be picked off in turn. And maybe some of those evils will be the Goliaths of our children. But if our own narrow view of history necessarily denies us a full appreciation of what fruits will be reaped of our labour, I hope that, in 150 years, our children will still be chipping away at injustice, and that they will be buoyed by our successes as we should be buoyed by the successes of those who came before us.

I like this metaphor, a lot.  Positive advocacy is a lot like the falling of small stones which start an avalanche in the mountains.  Over time, those little stones can change the entire landscape.

A thing about those stones - they tend to move all others in the same direction.
