My Liberal Values

Both political strategist Warren Kinsella (Fight the Right) and former journalist Paul Adams (Power Trap) have new books exploring what is wrong with the left and how to fix it. Both identify the core weakness of progressives in Canada: They cannot describe their values.

- Strong individuals for a strong society
- Empowerment through education - don't hand fish, teach to fish

- Quality healthcare that's there when you need it, but also the tools and knowledge to keep you healthy
- Strength through diversity

- Economic strength through diversification: we don't put all our eggs in one basket
- Canada's Best Destiny is at the world's moderator. We'll never wield the biggest gun, but we'll ensure those that have them keep them holstered

and most importantly:

Accessible, transparent, collaborative governance.

That's my list.  What's on yours?
