Occupational Mental Health: The Conscious Revolution Begins

Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace will be the next big breakthrough in improving quality of life and productivity in Canada.  It'll result in a more robust, productive and creative workforce, too.  The Conscious Revolution is the new Industrial Revolution.  The way we do business and organize our days is about to undergo a major overhaul, which will make some uncomfortable in the short term.  In the long term, though, we're all going to be better off.  We'll all get that much closer to realizing our personal maximum potentials.

My favourite part?  We're creating something new.  Canada can reclaim its title as the little country that makes things possible.

We just have to have faith - in what others can achieve when appropriately accommodated, and of what we can do when we work together.

  1. Hi Craig, I appreciate the later part of caption, i.e. The Conscious Revolution Begins. We human beings, are puppets of emotions. At workplace also, our efficiency traces an inconsistent trend on graph. The high graphs are appreciated, but none can suspect about the underlying pressures. Similarly, the lower output is always questioned without a hint of moral injury. The revolution reminds me about slavery. Feeling proud to be a Canadian! Occupational Health & safety will be getting a new shape with the new mental health standards. Let me see what I can do about it.

  2. Thanks, OHS! I personally wouldn't say we are slaves to our emotions, as our emotions are part of what makes us who we are. We typically aren't in control of them, though, which I think has something to do with how we perceive them. Emotions are a filter, but not the only one in our cognitive tool box. Comprehension is another. Just as one who only wields a hammer views every problem as a nail, those who rely solely on their emotional tools find emotional responses to every problem. The best option is to be consicous of our tools, mindful of our circumstance and experiment in the applicaiton of thought and emotion to derive the best possible outcomes. That's the challenge...
