"At a certain point I just concluded, for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married," Obama said.

President Obama is someone we should all be proud of.  He's not just standing up for his constituents; he's providing an example for the world to follow.  Opportunity and the ability to commit cannot and will not be the perview of the few; not if we want to reach our fullest potential as human beings. 

"The march of freedom that has sustained our country since the Revolution of 1776 continues, and no matter what setbacks may occur in a given state, freedom will triumph over fear and equality will prevail over exclusion."
